A Message To People

I suppose that this is the first time that I am really writing on this blog, apart from the poetry. This time I am writing about an issue that really affected me personally.
As most of you may know, recently, a girl demanding women's rights to education was shot by the Taliban. The image above mirrors my mood exactly. The girl was only fourteen years old, and she was shot just because she wanted to learn. THIS MAKES ME UNHAPPY.
Being a Muslim and a student this breaks my heart. I hold my religion in very high esteem, and I take it personally when some self-righteous hypocritical crazy bastards use something so pure for something so impure.
It is a very plain fact that my religion promotes the spread of knowledge; the first verse that came to Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) was "Proclaim! (or read!) in the name of thy Lord and Cherisher, Who created-Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood:Proclaim! And thy Lord is Most Bountiful,-He Who taught (the use of) the pen,-Taught man that which he knew not." (Qu'ran 96:1-5).
The verse above shows the importance of knowledge in Islam, it is seen as one of the most precious gifts that Allah has given to us.
Frankly, women are dealt with VERY unjustly in the Muslim world. No wonder the Islamic empire fell, and continues it's decline. The Muslims as a whole have stratified, and I hope that one day we can look back to the original message of our religion and treat others with some dignity instead of complaining about life's hardships. Allah help us.
